All your questions answered to get you started again...
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to our loyal members for bearing with us during lockdown.
We are so proud of the tfd community spirit.
Has my membership been reactivated?
Your membership has automatically been reactivated and is live.
You will be able to book classes and gym floor sessions on the FitSense App.
What happens to my direct debit payments going forward?
Your direct debit will resume with the same fee on the same payment date prior to lockdown.
What happens to the fees I paid when tfd was closed?
We made the decision to freeze all direct debit payments for two months from 21st May. If you continued to pay your direct debit up to 21st May, we will be arranging to make an adjustment to future fees or offer vouchers for other services.
Thank you for your understanding & support in this extremely unusual time.
I paid upfront for my membership. What happens to my renewal date?
Paid in full memberships will have their expiry dates extended by the amount of time we were closed or by the amount of time remaining on the membership if this is shorter.
Are you accepting new members?
Yes we are.
Due to the amount of space we have we can accommodate new members.
Please follow this link to our joining page
How do I sign up to a new membership?
Follow this link to our joining page
What if I don't want to come back to the gym yet?
Email us at email@example.com and we’ll cancel your membership so you can choose when you’d like to come back.
We are no longer able to offer the option to freeze individual memberships.
The joining fee will be waived if you return within 6 months of cancelling.
How do I make changes to my membership?
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to make any changes to your membership.
Will I have to do anything differently when I arrive at the gym?
Before attending you will need to be booked in for a class or gym floor session.
There is a designated area for you to queue outside for your gym session or class. Please join this queue when you arrive.
On arrival we will check your temperature with a non-contact forehead thermometer. You will then be expected to sanitise your hands at reception as you enter the gym.
Please bring essential items only into the gym, such as water and a towel. Bags and personal belongings cannot be brought into the gym and we therefore ask you to leave them at home or in your car, as the lockers are currently out of use.
Please wait for a member of our team to register your visit and allow access.
Current guidelines suggest wearing a mask is down to personal choice.
Will I need to book my gym sessions or can I just turn up?
Whilst the pandemic is a threat, all gym sessions must be pre-booked using our FitSense app.
Gym sessions will be in hourly slots, however, double slots will be allowed as long as there is availability and our members are respectful of time.
On the App the gym floor sessions appear only as a time. Tap on the time and confirm your booking. To check your bookings go to to ‘manage bookings’ and you will see your booked gym floor slots and classes listed.
You will be able to book up to 7 days in advance.
ALWAYS CANCEL YOUR CLASS OR GYM SESSION IF YOU CAN NO LONGER ATTEND.
ACCESS TO THE APP WILL BE REMOVED IF YOU FAIL TO ATTEND BOOKED SESSIONS.
How will the gym floor be managed to ensure everyone follows the rules?
A member of our team will be present at all times on the gym floor carrying out regular cleaning of high touch points and making sure procedures are followed to keep everyone safe.
Has the gym floor space been changed to ensure social distancing is easy?
During lockdown we have increased the gym floor space by 171sqm and all equipment has been spaced minimum of 2m apart.
This extra space has also allowed us to provide 6 functional training bays on the mezzanine for individuals and pairs to workout in safe zones.
Who is responsible for cleaning equipment I've used?
We will provide sanitiser and paper towels for you to use on equipment you have touched.
Can I use the changing rooms as normal?
In the short term our showers and lockers will be out of use.
Controlled access to the toilets will be available.
Please come changed and ready to go, leaving bags in your car as lockers will not be available.
Bags and non essential personal belongings cannot be brought into the gym.
Will the water machines be in use?
Water machines are considered high risk and for now will remain out of use.
Please bring a full water bottle or two with you.
Will the pool, sauna, steam and sunbed be open?
In the short term these will be closed.
We are keen to get these open as soon as possible and will review this decision regularly.
Will there be indoor classes and what will the capacity be?
Yes. The studios are open for classes and a new schedule is available to view on the FitSense app and our website.
Class capacity is reduced to follow social distancing guidelines.
